Puppet Head Sculpt – Part 3

Here are a few pictures from the next stage of puppet fabrication.

The clay master sculpts from earlier were covered in silicone and molds were made. I chose not to include documentation of this process because it was done in a way I would never suggest anyone following, next time I’ll do it right and document that!

After the molds set they were cut open and plastic resin was poured into the molds and allowed to set. The cast pieces came out alright but needed some clean-up.

Once the casts were cleaned up with a dremel and hobby knives the individual mouth shapes and expressions were molded on each cast piece. These were baked and they will be painted to match. More to come shortly!
